Mission Critical Accomplishments

Case Studies

IBM - United States Census Bureau

United State Census Bureau replaced its legacy Data Access and Dissemination System (DADS), used by the the agency to disseminate national demographcis and economic data, with a new set of applications, using latest and better technologies for a richer user experience through guided navigation and faster data retrievals.

We led the overall system performance test planning activities including, test strategies, task planning, requirements gathering/analysis, dependencies identification, roles and responsibilities, skill sets, testing architecture and defect management. We also contributed towards application development, data conversion and system engineering tasks.

IBM - United States Postal Service (USPS)

Under increasing competition from private package carriers, USPS decided to build a better transportation optimization, planning and scheduling system that will assist them to move mail between its processing and distribution centers more efficiently, meeting service requirements and at minimum costs.

We led technology efforts to develop architecture including design of application architecture (including presentation, data and business tiers); blue prints for development, test and production environments; hardware sizing; software decisions for configuration management, development IDE and production environment.

IBM - Fannie Mae

Fannie Mae’s CORE project was an effort to revamp the entire software applications suite supporting its core business processes in the secondary mortgage industry. These applications included sub systems handling the acquisitions of mortgage loans, servicing these loans on a continuing basis and creating securities around these loans and selling them in the international securities and financial markets.

We led efforts to architect and develop data exchange services for the applications receiving data from external and internal clients as XML, flat files and JMS messages; parsing, validating, transforming and transporting them to downstream applications using asynchronous JMS messaging, direct database updates and FTP

PricewaterhosueCoopers (PwC) – Air Canada

This project designed and implemented a travel portal for Air Canada, offering a one-stop travel shopping for air, car and hotel bookings to the unmanaged business traveler and the value/luxury subsection of the leisure market. The site was developed keeping personalization in mind with features such as multiple languages, personalized offers and advertisements.

We contributed to the overall architectural design, making critical suggestions at various stages to promote high availability, performance and scalability.

PricewaterhosueCoopers (PwC) – Aer Lingus

Aer Lingus, Ireland’s national airline, was looking to get their entire website revamped with the addition of an online booking engine, The application was also to connect to Aer Lingus’s internal frequent flyers application for retrieving and updating points and membership information.

We designed, configured, tested and implemented the end-to-end infrastructure including Internet and Intranet connectivity, Routers, Switches, Firewalls and Servers, using BroadVision for creating the User Interface and providing the personalization engine, a travel booking middle-ware called BookSmart, connecting to the backend Global Distribution System (GDS) Amadeus for all availability and booking needs

PricewaterhosueCoopers (PwC) - US Health and Human Services

The US department of Health and Human Services conducted a functional and technical fit gap analysis to determine the suitability of the PeopleSoft HRMS 8.0 for Federal Government to meet HHS and operating divisions (OPDIV) requirements and to estimate the level of effort, cost and risk associated with implementation of the PeopleSoft Federal HRMS department wide.

We analyzed various alternatives based on functional and technical requirements gathered as part of the fit/gap analysis. These alternatives differed on cost, risk and flexibility that they imposed/offered on the implementation (although HHS would have been successful using any of those alternatives). We recommended an architectural alternative based on HHS and its operating divisions, current architectural topography, their current skill sets and PeopleSoft’s supported infrastructure components.

PricewaterhosueCoopers (PwC) - US Treasury

The US Treasury implemented PeopleSoft HRMS for all thirteen bureau's including IRS, ATF, Customs and OCC. The program conducted detailed fit gap analysis, design and implementation of various HRMS modules. It also implemented a data warehousing solution, web delivery and a VRU delivery module for the bureaus.

AllySys team spearheaded the design and implementation of the shared development center for project delivery and design and implementation of technical archietctures for vaiorus bureaus.
